ITINERARY
The day starts at 10.00am with a brief chat and look through some glass samples followed by a demonstration on how to cut glass. Students are then given a glass-cutter and scrap glass to practice with.Once students are accurately cutting glass, following the basic shapes, they are given a range of designs to choose from for their project. At this time the ease of each design will be discussed along with the choice of glass from the many different ones available.
Students will then have the rest of the morning to cut the glass for their project. As the day progresses we tend to stop around 1.30pm for lunch. There is a large pub just down the road, or you can bring food to eat in at the studio. In warm weather you can sit outside and enjoy the view across the Adur valley. After lunch we demonstrate how to assemble the cut glass and students then put their project together with lead cames. This is followed by a dem' on soldering the panels together at the joints, which the students then do to finish their panel. The day normally concludes between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, but extends through to when each student finishes their project - and you get to go home with what you made!
