LIGHT MY FIRE

Based on Flaming Norah.  This light contains a wispy white glass globe that houses the bulb and then rows of Wispy and Opalescent glasses around it.  Finished with a row of glass bead around the bottom.

PRICE £600

ORIMENTAL

About 60cm in height, Orimental was designed to be either a table lampshade or a ceiling light.  It uses 9 different glasses from various manufacturers, glass globs and glass bead, both machine and hand made. Perhaps a little Gaudiesque in style, but not that way inspired.

PRICE £475

TORCHERE (TORCHY TO HIS FRIENDS)

Born out of the original ill fated Flaming Ada who could not keep her knickers up (due to her excessive weight), Torchere is a combination of new an old.  The glass is all by Spectrum (as is Flaming Norah below) but the base is pure 1960's kitsch.

A fiery combination of orange/amber glowing 'coals' and flames pouring forth.  Seen here in less than salubrious surroundings before going off to its owners.

SOLD FOR £225

STRIPES

Made from a variety of handmade and machine made glasses.  Stripes is slightly curved from the centre back towards the wall .  Slung on a simple hidden bracket the shade is supported via two brass rods attached to the back.

PRICE £125

BLADE

Made to complement its 1960's lamp base, Blade is simply hanging sheets of Spectrum orange and red Wispy glasses and also their Baroque glass in black and clear.

SOLD FOR £200

TONIC

Made using an iridescent reeded glass by Spectrum.  The cross-section of the lamp is kite shaped and the jewels on the front are amethysts.  The base is made from steel that has been heat treated to give  a 'petrol-on-water' effect similar to that of the iridised glass.

The light source is cleverly hidden in the base.  This looks fantastic as a floor lamp.

SOLD FOR £275

BURNING DESIRE

Made using Bullseye glass and topped with a Tiger's Eye.

SOLD FOR £100

BLADES

Hot on the trail of Blade came Blades.  Sitting on a copper lamp stand, it is made from a combination of Bullseye iridised, Spectrum Baroque Black on Clear iridised and Bullseye Mardi Gras glasses.

SOLD FOR £195

VOID

A simple box made to show off the fantastic Bullseye glass.  This glass contains frits!.  Frits are very thin pieces of glass that are laid onto a bed of molten glass.  They give the glass fantastic diversity and texture, and you can see some here in the bottom right hand corner.

As the name suggests, the middle of the front is split and  made up from two pieces of the Bullseye glass with the molten edges towards the centre.  Behind this is a piece of colourless Baroque glass from Spectrum to blur the light from the bulb and tie the whole shade together.

SOLD FOR £100

FAB HUAN

Inspired by the original 1960's base.  This light throws a fantastic blur of striaed blue light against  any close wall.

Huan stands about 18" tall.  The cross section of his shade is two intersecting squares, one of the blue and clear Baroque, the other of the opalescent glass.

PRICE £100

ARMACHROMO

A small wall light approximately 10 inches high and 4 inches wide.  Made from a variety of pebble and lozenge shaped pieces of glass in a myriad of colours.

Armachromo was first displayed at the Brighton Festival Open Houses in May 2004 and was very much admired spawning many 'cousin' versions!

SOLD FOR £150

FLAMING NORAH

A one-off copy of the original wall light made during the Southampton Flower and Balloon Festival in 2003.

The commissioner required a light of this style that was opaque enough to hide the light bulb and follow a colour pallet of cream, apricot, sea-green and peach.

Sadly when the light was completed the commissioner decided they did not want it, without ever seeing it; as it happens luckily so - for one discerning art lover. He fell in love with Norah when he found her displayed during the 2004 Brighton Arts Festival Open Houses. In fact he loved her so much, he commissioned a pair of  narrower versions.

Two different colourways are shown here.

PRECIOUS & PRECIOUS TOO

Using Agate slices and semi-precious tumble stones such as Carnelian, Citrine, Amethyst and Quartz are what go to make both Precious and Precious Too.

Precious Too was the most commented on light shown at the Brighton Festival Open House exhibition in 2004.

SOLD FOR £210

PRECIOUS WALL-LIGHT

A variant of the above.  About 12" in circumference.
